Privacy Policy

This policy describes the visitor information handled by New Mexico Court Docket, the reasons it may be used, and the circumstances in which it may reach a service provider. Visiting or using the site means you accept these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A query entered in a search box is sent to the outside company that operates that tool. That provider processes the input and supplies results; New Mexico Court Docket does not keep a log of the terms submitted through it.

Messages and Contact Submissions

If you contact us by email, we retain the message as needed to respond. We limit its use to handling your inquiry and do not disclose it outside our organization unless the law requires disclosure.

Data We Gather Automatically

A page request may create a technical log containing details such as:

  • The time and date of each page request
  • The referring site, when one is provided
  • Pages requested and approximate time spent
  • Your browser and its version
  • Device category and operating system
  • The IP address associated with the connection

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files a site can place on a device. We use them, along with analytics services, to understand broad traffic patterns such as frequently visited pages. Browser controls can block or clear cookies; doing so may affect how some site functions behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Diagnosing faults and improving site reliability
  • Routing search-box entries to the selected provider
  • Measuring which pages visitors use
  • Keeping pages available and responsive
  • Displaying advertising, which may be interest-based

No Court-Record Data on File

New Mexico Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of court dockets or case details about other people. It provides general directions to New Mexico's Case Lookup, court system, and the clerk for the court that holds a record. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports about third parties.

Third-Party Search Partners

Search boxes rely on external providers. When you submit a query, the provider's privacy terms govern its handling of that input. Each provider sets its own retention and disclosure practices, which we do not control; read its policy before searching.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to New Mexico court pages, Case Lookup, legal aid resources, or commercial search services. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy terms apply. Review them before providing personal information.

Advertising providers may also use their own systems to observe activity across websites for ad selection. We do not operate that tracking.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Information may be handled by:

  • Analytics providers measuring site traffic and performance
  • Third-party search companies receiving submitted queries
  • Advertising networks that serve pages with ads
  • Authorities when a legally valid demand requires disclosure

How We Protect Your Data

We use customary safeguards for information in our control. Internet-connected systems cannot be guaranteed secure, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a data incident will never occur.

Users Under 18

This service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

Your Data Rights

You may contact us to request a copy of personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, request deletion, or object to certain processing. We will review requests under applicable law. New Mexico's Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA), NMSA 1978 §§ 14-2-1, 14-2-8, and 14-2-9, governs access to eligible public-body records and related request procedures. Rule 1-079 NMRA addresses public inspection and sealing of court records. Neither turns this private site's visitor information into a public-body or court record. See the New Mexico Judiciary IPRA portal and Rule 1-079 NMRA for those distinct processes.

  • Ask us to delete information, where applicable
  • Request a copy of information associated with you
  • Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
  • Object to or opt out of certain processing

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this policy as site practices or applicable requirements change. A revised version will appear here with its effective date; check this section for the current terms.
